Who has the upper hand in the India-China border dispute?
South China Morning Post
Explainer
The editorial team was producing an infographic comparing Indian and Chinese military capabilities following heightened border tensions after the 2020 clashes along the Line of Actual Control. The original asset was a static 2D infographic containing defence spending data, military comparisons, and geographic context.
My responsibility was to transform the static infographic into an engaging motion graphics explainer that would help audiences quickly understand the scale of the military imbalance while maintaining the publication's established visual identity, colour palette, and editorial accuracy.
The final piece transformed a dense static infographic into a dynamic explainer that made a complex geopolitical topic more accessible to a broad audience. It improved narrative flow, highlighted key comparisons more effectively, and maintained a cohesive visual identity while increasing viewer engagement with the story.

The video was published in 2021. In addition to focusing on the visual explanations and graphics, we also placed great emphasis on the use of music and sound design to enhance the storytelling.
